Registration Process

Our 2023 in-person Retreat will be August 28 – 31 at the Burren College of Art

To ensure the quality of the experience, we limit the group size to twenty-five. The spaces fill quickly and so we suggest that if you have not already completed this step, you contact Mary Stacey to arrange a 30m introductory call, after which you will be able to register.

Your Accommodation

The Retreat will begin in the late afternoon August 28 and continue until mid-afternoon August 31. We recommend you consider spending additional time in the Burren, especially arriving a few days early if you are coming from a greater distance.

Accommodation should be selected based on the length of your stay and travel distance.

Cottage accommodation with breakfast included is most suitable if you are traveling a long distance or plan to spend some additional time in the Burren. It is available Sun August 27 – Sun September 3, inclusive. These traditional Burren thatched-roof cottages typically accommodate three participants. Most have one ensuite room and two rooms with a shared bath. The cottages have kitchen facilities available and a local grocery store nearby.

Hotel accommodation with breakfast included is most suitable if you are coming for the retreat only. It is available 3 nights, Mon August 28 – Thurs August 30, inclusive.

Please contact julia@burrencollege.ie if you would like to book extra nights for either a cottage or hotel stay.

All accommodation is located in the Village of Ballyvaughan and walkable to all amenities. A shuttle service is provided for transportation to the College, a short distance away.

Meals (breakfasts for cottage stays, lunches, dinners, and refreshments) are included during the Retreat (August 28 - 31)

Refund and Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made more than one month in advance of the Retreat will be refunded in full minus a €250 administrative fee. Cancellations made less than one month in advance are subject to a forfeiture of 50% of the registration fee plus the administration fee. If you must cancel a registration, please e-mail Julia Long, programme coordinator at the College.

Cancellations made within two weeks of the start date or no shows are not eligible for a refund. If registration is cancelled at any time, you can choose to send a colleague in your place, who would benefit from and make a valuable contribution to the programme. Alternatively, you can apply your fees to participating in the following year’s programme.

To inquire about receiving an invitation, contact founder Mary Stacey to arrange a call.
